As of July 2011, Facebook has more than 750 milion active user. Facebook was founded by Mark Zuckerberg with Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovits, and Chris Hughes.
The name of the service stem from the colloguial name for the book given to student at the start of the academic year by university administration in the United States to help student get to know each other. The membership was initially limited by the founders to Harvard student, it gradually added support for aged 13 and over.
Well, everything always have Positive and negative side. Not different with Facebook, its have positive and negative side to our life in the world, so let we see.
The positive points of Facebook are, it can reunite lost family members and friends. This site can disseminate articles that educate, and the updated information very quickly. We will do not miss information. Many people or group use this site for business and political.
Fcebook has met with controversies. It has been blocked intermittently in several countries on different based. For example, it was banned in many countries of the world on the basis of allowed content judged as anti-islamic and containing religious discrimination. It has also been banned at many workplaces wasting their time on the site. The privacy of Facebook user has also been an issue and the safety of user accounts has been compromised several times( quite time-consuming). Many people used Facebook for pornography, it is so bad for child under 18 years old. That are some example of negative side from Facebook.
